Konektions: BP / ICCE / Climate Gate

Monday morning - July 26 2010.

Not sure where this is going - Was recently told by a TV 24-hour news service around 1am Sunday morning that this is where they get most of their news leads from ("bloggers") - so here goes world - this is for YOU! Better late than never.

1pm Sunday: Flipping TV channels in a motel? So sad. Here is why, before we get to the really cool stuff. It is worth the wait!

Two hours earlier when getting something out of the truck after checking in, noticed that front left tire was almost flat? 15,000 miles, new vehicle? Hmm? Strange. Drove to a nearby 24-hour Sheetz near Patuxent AFB in MD and pumped air into the tire. Watched TV to let time pass without falling asleep. Looked out of hotel window. Tire flat again! Therefor, had not been someone that just felt like blowing air into the parking lot, so to speak.

Drove to Sheetz. Told to use "Fix a Flat" as did not have time for garage stop at 6am on a Sunday morning! Stuff really works! WOW! By 2pm finally asleep after making sure the tire was OK, but remembered the CNN comment about blogs are where the news is REALLY at!

So here goes.

Subject matter? Connections (dubbed "Konektions" by us) between these entities / events / locations (EEL). Very subtle English "humour" - yes America, that is how they (Brits) really spell it.

BP - British Petroleum
ICCE - Independent Climate Change Email panel review
UK - Where the study took place
Timeframe: First 6 months of 2010 (independent review)

Why: Examine whether the (global) doubt caused by hacking / releasing scientific communications / climate change data / emails from the University of East Anglia was valid.

Important dates:
Start of event: November 2009 when 200 countries were about to discuss climate change in Copenhagen (December 2009 - clever timing).
January 2010 - ICCE review panel formation.
July 2010 - Release of panel findings.

Important players:
ICCE Chairperson - Sir Muir Russell
Only non academic on 5-person panel - David Eyton long-time BP executive and now - get this:

BP Technical VP for Deepwater Development for Gulf of Mexico while also serving on the 5-person panel

Who are we? www.intragroups.com for our press release from July 23 2010.

EXCLUSIVE! Our research found this link around 5am on July 7 - 6 hours BEFORE ICCE published its findings at 1pm GMT (6pm EST in time for the local news which NO-ONE picked up on - not even the BBC).

More to follow later today. Just want to get the word out with a sense of urgency, sooner rather than later. Whatever works.

No-one on this side of the pond - in US national media - has picked up this important "Konektion" between BP and ICCE. It is now almost 3 weeks since ICCE was published.

Here is our challenge:

WE WILL SELECT ONLY ONE ORGANIZATION TO COVER THIS EXCLUSIVE NEWS.

Check out our press release and view the four BP Entities from our home page - then email us at info@intragroups.com

For everyone else - check back later - our thorough research and your feedback are already worth talking / blogging about.

Fellow bloggers - spread the word - this is HUGE!

Media: TOTAL embarassment for you? With all of your (duplicate) resources you should be ashamed at not connecting the dots as we have done.

Let us start a competition and see:

1) Who breaks the news first
2) Who contacts us first to get a head-start on coverage / access to our research
